Have you ever held an officials position in HiH? If so, how many terms? I’ve waited to go for positions until I know them and HiH well, so I’ve started off lower (shopkeeper, club leader, etc) and am working my way up now.
How much availability do you have in an average week for performing mod duties? I am available daily – complete attention for at least an hour, and I usually check for urgent things/easily done tasks regularly throughout the day.
Do you have any suggestions for helping things to run more smoothly/easily in this community? With Diagon on the system, a lot more of the time spent running it can be devoted to ideas and development, rather than simply editing who has what, etc. And I would love to work with Sas on that.

First of all, many of the images are old or not the best. On items that are not books and used by club leaders, I would love to work with them to hold contests to design new looks for the items, like SPEW did for the badges. Diagon can get spiffed up with new and shiny images. As books have the same template, I would like to hold a contest (like the official icons contest) for a new template for them all. There could also be contests for new banners for the shops, as they have been around a long time. Replacing old banners is often done in the clubs – so why not here!

Diagon was originally simply made for people to have the pride of owning items, which has meant as more purpose has been given to its items, some items are rarely if ever bought, as there is no reason for many people. Given the way the owned items list is written, owning them is not necessarily its own reward. As such, I would like to come up with new ways to make them appreciated and wanted, followed by working with Sas to make them able to be implemented on the system.

With books, I would love to come up with a library system, where they could be designed in a pretty more concise system. Some titles could be made rare (expensive, few for sale, and/or limited sales times). As such, libraries could be a way of showing off one’s collecting or spending time with some good books.

For clothing, I would like to develop a closet, similar to a library but for clothes. Potentially more clothes/clothing items could be developed for it as well if people wanted it/the closets became popular, but that would be on the back burner to making everything we currently have useful.

Wizarding Cards are cheap to buy, and currently one can choose the card. However, I’d like to develop a system where collecting, trading, etc is encouraged. The card one bought would be randomized, and if possible with ‘common cards’ (such as Morgana) coming up more often. Building a whole system for such a card collecting game could take a lot of time and thought, but I think it would be worth it.

I would similarly like to make everything currently for sale desirable and wanted through different ways. If I am elected the Diagon Mod, I will go through it to attempt to do so with everything.

Two more issues are ones I have often seen mentioned in complaints or random thoughts: the giving of gifts in all the shops and giving knuts. They have their separate issues, from implementation to the potential for bribes. I would like to spend a lot of time and thought on both issues, to see if there are plausible ways to make them working. I know the giving of knuts has been discussed and turned down before, but as it has come up, I would take another look.
Do you enjoy/have experience working with numbers and keeping things well organized? I will admit I have a bit of OCD about keeping numbers and things organized. I have made excel spreadsheets of many a thing, including my and others’ sortings (organized by house, with raw numbers and percentages). I find organization a pleasant past time.
Do you know HTML? I have a basic knowledge of html, enough for editing and maintaining the intro page and any other html needed for being Diagon Mod.
</nobr></td></tr><tr><td>Are you adept at learning new systems? Yep! Give me a few days play time and a little experience with a system, and I am good to go. I often have to learn new systems for work, so I have experience with it.
Why are you interested in being the mod for this community? I have contacted the previous Diagon Mod plenty a time with questions, ideas, suggestions, etc. I have shopped around and not seen a reason to buy items and think it sad. I have ideas and brainstorming about projects for Diagon Alley, to make it a more hip popular place. I want people to never run out of things to do with their knuts. Also, working with Sas and getting to know her better is a plus of its own too ;).

Have you ever held an officials position in HiH? If so, how many terms? Yes, Prefect and another mod position for two terms.
How much availability do you have in an average week for performing mod duties?
A lot. I'm online every day, and even when I'm in class, I'm on my computer and (usually) available to answer questions.

Do you have any suggestions for helping things to run more smoothly/easily in this community?
Now that the community is largely automated, the mod can focus on adding new features. I would love to work with Sas to make the system keep track of bonus points for items owned so individual club leaders didn't have to keep track. I'd also love to devise a way to "sell back" certain items for a fraction of their original price or "discard" them if people no longer wanted them. I'd love to develop new stores and increase the number of items which can be given as gifts. I'd also love to have awards listed as items (ie, medals for Insomniacs of the Month) that could be collected. I'd also like to revise the pets policy so that you have to purchase a license to keep your pet instead of having the pet "die." I'd also like to talk to Sas about possibly implementing some sort of "returns" policy where you have, say, 48 hours after purchasing something to return it for a full refund, in case someone buys something by accident. (But of course, you couldn't buy something just to get the bonus then return it!) It would also be nice to talk to the Hogsmeade mod about having special items which can get you bonus points in the general Hogsmeade activities, like a "signed permission slip" or bonus points for things in the main comm, like invisibility cloaks or the like. :)

Do you enjoy/have experience working with numbers and keeping things well organized?
Yes. In real life I've worked during several summers at a logistics firm preparing international shipping documents and spreadsheets, which require a lot of attention to detail, speed and accuracy.

Do you know HTML? Yes, and I adore playing with it. :) (I've won some layout contests here at HiH before, if that helps.)

Are you adept at learning new systems?
Yes, I'm a very fast learner, especially with computer languages.

Why are you interested in being the mod for this community?
I think it would be a lot of fun to implement my ideas and add in more interactivity and new stores and items, and really expand the role of Diagon Alley beyond just something used for getting bonus points. I'd love it to be like your virtual trunk, filled with more than just school supplies, but also things just for fun, awards, gifts from friends, etc.
