ADo you have any suggestions for making things run more smoothly in this community? No, I honestly think that the community is ran quite smoothly now.
If an applicant (or sorter) has a dispute with the way things were done (disagreeing with the vote count or being upset for an application or vote being removed due to breaking the rules, for instance), how would you handle this? First I would private message them and try to solve the problem itself. If not, I would go to the mods to ask for advice.
Why are you interested in being the mod for this community? I honestly love being the face of the community. The first person the applicant comes to before entering the community.
BDo you have any suggestions for making things run more smoothly in this community? I think the community itself runs smoothly - it just needs some work to make it more active.
If an applicant (or sorter) has a dispute with the way things were done (disagreeing with the vote count or being upset for an application or vote being removed due to breaking the rules, for instance), how would you handle this? I think it's important to be an impartial party as much as possible when dealing with these types of things as the Platform is the face of the entire community and we certainly don't want to turn people off from the start. I would work with the person - find out where they think an error has been made, or where the problem occurred and do my best to come to a positive resolution that would please everyone. I am also not afraid to ask for help if the situation seems warranted.
Why are you interested in being the mod for this community? As I said this is the face of HiH and when this community succeeds - the rest succeed as well. And while HiH has been around a long time and we do have a strong core of members — fresh faces always add to the excitement. And when they feel at home — they are more likely to invite their friends and so on. Also, this is the first community that interested people see, and I would think it would encourage more people to apply if they saw others doing so. I know we have the weekly posts so they can see it's constantly being updated — but really how much fun can something be if there aren't more people applying?
In terms of making it more active, I would definitely carry on where the last voting mod left off in terms of posting on other platforms (both livejournal and other social media areas), inviting former members to come back, and utilizing the platform lottery. I think it's important to get our name and story out there. Also, I would definitely keep the birthday posts going as I enjoy seeing our members celebrated each month and I think it's great for morale.
